Disney Collaboration!

unnamedGuess who I’m doing for today’s collab? That’s right! Pocahontas. I’m very excited since this is my first ever collaboration with 2 other wonderful bloggers! [See below.]

This is my take on this collaboration with Pocahontas as my inspiration! One of my favorite Disney characters has been Pocahontas because of her free spirited, kind and loving personality. And even though she is a little stubborn at times, she always follows her heart.

I could not stop singing Colors of the wind the whole time I’m doing this look!

My look for today is Pocahontas reincarnated in the 21st century.pocahontas makeup

pocahontas makeupI used the more dominant colors in Pocahontas’ character and incorporated them on the make-up. Mostly very subtle colors though. Her eyebrows are super red, but I didn’t want it to be too literal so I used a reddish brown eyebrow pencil instead. Of course, I had to have my lashes, this is the 21st century version after all!

One of the most stand out piece is her blue necklace. I wore this super cute statement necklace that is so perfect for this interpretation and a dress that is mostly earthy colors. I wish I had some fringy clothes but I didn’t and this is as close as I got.

Day dreamer. Lover of all things cute and pretty. I also have a thing with planners/organizers.

  1. You were born for this ^_^ If they ever make a movie anytime soon you should be in it or else I am writing Disney a mean letter.

        1. Disney classics? I rely on my Netflix for Disney movies now lol.

They have the best soundtracks. I love the classics but I also like that the newer disney films are evolving to have a stronger and more independent princesses. Like the ones that don’t really revolve around a man rescuing them πŸ˜› I think it sends a better message.

          Which one is your favorite?

          1. Yes ma’am…I saw Mulan, The Little Mermaid and Cinderella yesterday. I agree that it’s great that they are portraying these Disney princesses as a damsel in distress as much. Disney has evolved! The colors of the wind is by far one of my favorite songs from the Disney soundtracks. My favorite is Cinderella with Aladdin coming in close second. Netflix is the beat thing since sliced bread! What’s yours?

          2. I kill Colors of the wind in karaoke! πŸ˜› That and Part of your world. lol My favorite would have to be Pocahontas and Alladin. Those I can watch over and over and not get sick of.

And I completely agree about Netflix!!

  2. Wow you totally nailed the look…you look just like her! And the necklace and the top are gorgeous I will be looking at these pictures for the rest of the day Disney should contact you, agreed with Maria!

    1. Thank you love! I wish I had her amazing long locks. πŸ˜›
I had to make do with what I had and when I saw the necklace, I immediately thought that I needed to use it for this look!

    1. Thank you Amy! I’d love to hear the story of you being Pocahontas growing up. Did you resemble her a lot or is it her being adventurous? πŸ™‚ Care to share?

    1. Thank you Emily! It was either go completely neutral and minimal on makeup, which I think she obviously did in the movie or have fun and get creative πŸ™‚ I chose the second one!

  3. I am in love with the idea!
I think Pocahontas suits you well, totally agree with Maria, if there’s a movie you have to be Pocahontas. <.<

    1. YESSS! When Maria suggested it, I couldn’t wait to do it! πŸ˜›
I agree that Pocahontas is the best choice for me, I couldn’t possibly pull off anyone else (well, Mulan or Jasmine come in close second )

      1. Mulan I don’t know because she’s got a super fair skin and you’re more tanned, but you could wear a lighter foundation. But Jasmine… She’d suit you pretty well too. πŸ˜€ Seriously, I looked at your pictures and I was like *.* ooooow!

        1. You’re totally right about Mulan! and nooooo, too light foundation on me looks gray, I’d look like a zombie. Thanks again Sunny you’re so sweet :)))

          1. Depends on the coverage, I guess. But oh well. Still Pocahontas and Jasmine are 2 of the best, lucky you. πŸ˜€ You’re welcome. ^^

  4. Love it so much!! I literally was excited when I saw Pocahontas + Disney + you! She was probably my fave princess back then (still is) hehe.Like you said, no one is ever too old for Disney
    Beautiful job!

    1. You are too sweet! I love Pocahontas’ personality the most! I’m so glad you liked what I did with this look.
      Thank you love πŸ™‚

    1. I couldn’t agree more! She and Jasmine are apparently the only two Disney characters I can get away with. But I am more than okay with that πŸ™‚

      Thank you!

  5. Completely in love with this! You’re absolutely stunning and she is one of my all time favourite disney princess’! Great job with this post sweetie xx

  6. You look stunning!!! Everything from the eyeshadow to lip color is perfectly on point. I think you’d make a good Jasmine from Aladdin too!
