Hey guys, bit of a personal PSA post here. If you’ve noticed a bunch of pink on the football field or grocery aisle, you might know that October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Here are a few facts:
- Cancer is when the normal cell cycle is disturbed. Old cells don’t die; new cells come unneeded.
- These extra cells can create tumors. When they’re in the breast, this is breast cancer.
- Breast cancer can happen in men, but it is 100x more common in women.
- Breast cancer is the second leading cause of cancer death in women.
This month Glamulet will be running a Pink October (#GlamuletPinkOctober) campaign to raise awareness as well as funds. For every sale from their limited edition collection, 50% will go to their partner charity.
If you would like all of your donation to go toward a cause, you can always give to groups like Breast Cancer Research Foundation, The Rose, or National Breast Cancer Foundation. But pieces like Glamulet’s lovely charms can signify something more personal as well as acting as a conversation starter that can raise awareness well beyond October.
