I hope you all had a wonderful Labor Day weekend! A long weekend means having extra time to spend with loved ones and getting a few more things done that’s been sitting on our “to do” list. I for one managed to head to downtown St. Petersburg and check out the Mural Festival called Shine. According to their official site – “SHINE is a not-for-profit public art project, intended to illuminate the power of art in public spaces by revitalizing areas, inspiring dialogue and uniting our community.”
The Mural Festival is part of the month long art celebration called SPF 15 hosted in the city of St. Petersburg. There were plenty more murals around and some are still in the process that we didn’t get a shot of all them. I love the idea of international and local artists alike showcasing their talents through these gigantic forms of wall art for the public to enjoy.
The murals are located within blocks of each other and it was a lot of fun trying to spot them.
After walking a few blocks, hunger kicked in so we decided to find a place to eat and plan to come back to search for the rest of the murals, so stay tuned!
